The growing demand from our client organisations for international services means that PPC Worldwide is continually expanding our global network of clinical affiliates.
PPC Worldwide's clinical affiliates provide face-to-face counselling to our clients in order to address a variety of personal issues that may affect work performance.
For example:
- Emotional issues
- Substance abuse assessment and intervention
- Assistance with work problems
- Financial or legal concerns
- Marital issues
Affiliates may also be called upon to provide post trauma support for clients who have been affected by a trauma in the workplace, or expatriate outreach services for expatriate employees and family members.
Affiliates are assigned cases from our Service Centre in Oxford. A PPC Worldwide case manager works closely with our affiliates to provide assistance throughout the case.
overview for prospective clinical affiliates
PPC Worldwide is the world's longest continuously operating Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). PPC pioneered the application of short-term solution focused therapy to the EAP industry in 1975.
PPC Worldwide's clinical affiliates provide face-to-face counselling. The number of sessions required for each case will vary based on the initial assessment, the required treatment and the contractual limitations of the particular client organization's EAP. Some affiliates may also provide Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD).
Assessment and Brief Counselling
PPC Worldwide clinical affiliates are experts in brief, solution-focused counselling and are skilled in assessing substance abuse and depression.
Confidentiality
Each clinical affiliate is expected to adhere to the high standards of PPC Worldwide in maintaining client confidentiality, subject to applicable laws and those occasions when a disclosure may be required to protect life or safety.
Referral
At times, a client's problems may be assessed as requiring specialized or long-term care which falls outside the scope of the EAP service. It is essential that the EAP clinical affiliate has a thorough knowledge of other resources in the local community in case of such need. Affiliates should not normally refer EAP clients to themselves or to partners.
Selection of Affiliates
Our clinical affiliates are taken through a rigorous selection process.
They should:
- Be licensed or certified as required by the resident country
- Have expertise in assessing and treating a broad range of personal, mental health and substance abuse problems
- Have expertise and, preferably, training in brief therapy
- Have a convenient, professional counselling office available
- Be fluent in both the local language and English
- Have an excellent local referral network
- Be educated to masters degree or local equivalent in psychology, social work, counselling or a related field
- Have three years post qualification experience in providing therapy
During selection, prospective PPC Worldwide clinical affiliates undergo an extensive telephonic interview covering: education, training, the EAP conceptual framework, and case scenarios. If the candidate matches PPC Worldwide's standards, their credentials are checked, they are orientated in our methods and asked to sign a contract, whereupon they receive a copy of PPC Worldwide's International Affiliate Handbook.
